As the last hour of sun lingers on the horizon, you can often find Sofie and Mike out in the back field on a picnic & fishing date. Fishing together was their first double date and they haven’t stopped since. Sofie grew up on that property next to her grandparents and loved fishing so it has been a fun thing to continue with her now fiancé! 🙂

Sofie is an incredibly talented artist based in Northeast PA, just north of Scranton, who is nationally known for her beautiful pieces. We have many of her originals in our home from her hand painted Easter eggs to her hand painted ornaments to the custom paintings of our own home, I cannot get enough of her work! We joke that we will have a Sofie Swetter Christmas tree within a few years because I keep collecting her ornaments 🙂 It was such an honor to be able to spend time with her and capture this special season of her life!

Back in 2015, I was asked to give a presentation for career days at Mountain View High School, where I presented on life as a small business owner of a bridal boutique & photography business. I had just graduated the year before and bought a bridal boutique and had been running my photography business for several years. Little did I know that Sofie was a student that sat in the room at the time. We didn’t talk that day but 8 years later, I found her instagram and fell in love with her work. When we began talking about engagement photos, she knew right away she wanted to do them at her grandparents farm where she grew up! It was so special to have little touches of home in the picnic to her grandpa’s tackle box. These are the type of photos that you will cherish for years to come!
