Hi there! We’re Seneca & Paul, husband & wife and founders of Seneca Ryan Co. A wedding photography team based in Montrose, PA & Syracuse, NY, serving couples throughout Northeast Pennsylvania and Central New York. Our mission is to gift newlyweds the blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments from their wedding day, given through nostalgic, classic, candid photography.
With 400+ weddings and 25+ years of experience all together, we have seen and problem-solved everything you can imagine.
We are the friend in the room. Someone who knows when to step in for those classic shots, but also when to hang back and let the magic unfold naturally.

meet Seneca //

I photographed my first wedding when I was 15 and knew immediately that this was what I wanted to do when I grew up! Right out of high school, I bought the local bridal boutique and my whole life revolved around weddings. My passion and love for photography has only grown stronger while managing my own business and the creative team of photographers who have joined me. My approach to wedding days is to make sure everyone feels comfortable and capture the little moments you’ll want to remember right alongside the big moments. As the oldest of 8 kids, I've learned the balance of being the overprotective & prepared mom and the fun aunt all rolled into one! It's important for me to get to know my clients and I treat each bride like she's my best friend walking down that aisle. My favorite titles are Mama to our two little ones, Ailish & Theo and wife to Paul. When I am not photographing weddings, I am enjoying being on the family farm with the kids or in the garden growing flowers & veggies.

Paul is everyone’s favorite by the end of the wedding day, he has a way to make sure everyone looks great in front of the camera & is having fun while taking photos. He has an amazing attention to detail and a servant’s heart, the perfect combo on a wedding day (or in life! I’m so lucky to have him as my husband and team mate for life!). He handles all of the equipment behind the scenes, keeps everything organized and goes above and beyond to make sure your day is captured perfectly. When he's not at a wedding or working behind the scenes, you'll find him outside, spending time with our kids, fixing up the barn on our property, or gardening with Seneca.

Becca

Becca has always had a camera in her hand as a child and fell in love with photographing weddings a few years ago! Her goal on wedding days is to make sure everyone is comfortable in front of the camera and feels like the best version of themselves. Her favorite part of the wedding day is the one-on-one time with the bride & groom during portraits when they get to take a breath and focus on eachother. After marrying her highschool sweetheart, Becca knows how cherished and loved these photos will be and will go above and beyond to create them for any couple. When she’s not behind a camera, you can find Becca in the kitchen baking something yummy, on a thrifting adventure, or going for a peaceful walk in the woods - all with her two littles, Luca & Claire in tow.

Eva has always had a creative eye for style and design so when she picked up a camera, it was no surprise she was a natural at wedding photography! On wedding days, Eva focuses on creating timeless photos and making sure the couple feel confident in front of her camera. She is encouraging, funny, and unphased which makes her invaluable on wedding days! After recently being a bride herself, Eva understands how much love and attention is poured into weddings and is determined to document it all. If she’s not working, Eva can be found channeling her creative energy into trying new hobbies such as embroidery and gardening. She also loves to stay active by playing volleyball, hiking, and chasing after her two kids, Flora & Leo!

Sofie has a deep passion for art that has seeped into every aspect of her life. Throughout the years, she has strived to see beauty in all things - no matter how small or mundane. This channels into her love for wedding photography by noticing behind the scenes moments and little details might pass by. Sofie’s favorite part of the wedding day is witnessing the beautiful emotions between families and friends on the best day of their lives! She also loves photographing the stunning flower arrangements! Outside of wedding days, you can find Sofie thrifting and antiquing with her husband, Mike, and creating art for her business, Sofie Swetter Fine Art. Her breathtaking artwork is full of countryside scenes, cozy cottages, sucks, chickens, and flowers.

Seneca started photographing weddings 14 years ago, and she realized that there were so many couples that we weren’t able to serve because we couldn’t be in 2 places at once! That’s when our team of photographers was born! All of our photographers are professional photographers who have been trained to photograph and serve our clients the same experience that Seneca and Paul have been known for. Seneca and Paul handle all of the communication and editing so there is consistency and we can promise you the same level of quality, regardless of which one of our photographers is there snapping the photo of your first kiss and big group hug on the dance floor at the end of the night. We are all one big family and cannot wait to welcome you in! We love getting to be a part of your family as it grows in love over the years, long after the wedding day!
