Natalie & Weber got married on a blustery cold fall wedding at Farm at Cottrell Lake in Uniondale, PA but you wouldn’t have known it as there was so much excitement and love surrounding these two! They met for the first time in the hospital during a cold Maine snowstorm, when Natalie was a medical student and Weber was a family medicine resident in his last year of training. Weber thought she was cute, full of excitement about medicine and life, and a joy to talk to. Their paths did not cross again until several months later at a workshop Weber was leading and he quickly took the opportunity to ask her on a date. That weekend they went hiking, and Weber won Natalie over with his sense of adventure (and the foraged snacks he found along the trail).
They had a casual romance at first during the Spring, since Natalie knew she would be leaving the area soon. They actually went to a wedding that summer right before Natalie left Maine for good (Weber agreed to be her last minute date!), and decided then that they didn’t really want to part ways. They kept dating, now long distance, for the next year. Natalie spent her last year of medical school moving states every month, while Weber completed a fellowship back where we met in Maine. When Natalie started surgical training in Pennsylvania, Weber took the leap and moved to be with her. They have since created a bountiful garden and welcomed back a sassy (and clingy) cat into their lives while surviving homeowner disasters and challenging on-call weekends. We aren’t sure where we will be next year, but are looking forward to our next adventure.
Weber surprised Natalie with a proposal at Glacier National Park on their first day in Montana. They had hiked 14+ miles and were at the bottom of a clearing where there was a gorgeous secluded lake. Weber joked that there was a bear behind Natalie and when she turned back around he had taken out the ring! Natalie knew he was nervous, because she had never heard his voice shake before. So so sweet!
