Courtney & Stefan’s wedding was amazing…I’ve been looking forward to this one all year and it didn’t disappoint!! Courtney & Stefan live in NYC so we had only chatted on the phone until two days before the wedding when I went over to the family property! It felt like meeting old friends, they were both so welcoming and it made me even more excited for Saturday. They chose to get married on Stefan’s family property in Hop Bottom, PA where they have spent many weekends throughout their 10 years of dating together. It’s a special place for his family as his grandparents moved here from Europe. His grandfather had this beautiful chapel built up in the woods on the property where the ceremony took place and then the party was under a sperry tent by the pond.

Courtney & Stefan met in high school even though they went to different high schools because of Courtney’s maid of honor so it was a big reunion for all of their high school friends to celebrate them finally becoming husband & wife!!

The girls got ready at Shabby Shek Salon in Tunkhannock while the guys hung out at the house and Stefan worked on some final touches. The girl’s had a wedding playlist for the ride to Hop Bottom so Courtney was ready for her first look with Stefan when we arrived. I love when couple’s do first looks as it gives them time to just be together before the celebrating starts! They popped champagne with their bridal party afterwards and relaxed before the ceremony. As you walked up the drive to the chapel, you passed bee hives where the honey they gave as favors came from and were welcomed by the family greeting everyone. After they said “I Do” the chapel bell rang & it felt like you were in a hallmark movie…a quaint chapel on the hill surrounded by all your favorite people & you just got married! What could be better?!

We got to work with the dream team of vendors who put together a beautiful reception space…Forget Me Not Rentals, Flourish Grace Calligraphy and Monzie’s Floral made the Sperry tent even prettier (I’ll never stop talking about the Sperry tent…now I want one for my wedding!) while Patchwork Planning kept everything flowing throughout the day. Epicurean Delight catered and it was delicious as usual!

As the night went on, the more magical it looked…the twinkling lights reflecting on the pond & the full moon above while everyone danced away or enjoyed the lounges on the lawn. It was such a fun evening!

I hold a special place in my heart for weddings that take place on private property…they take so much more work to pull off but I think it is worth it, I love that it’s a meaningful place for the couple & everyone always seems more relaxed. Courtney & Stefan invited us back for a pig roast on Sunday. Stefan and his family got up early & roasted the pig and Epicurean Delight catered the rest…what a treat!! I think day after wedding brunches should become more of a thing! 😉
