Oh friends, I don’t even know where to start to tell you about Waco other than you should probably plan a trip there ASAP! I visited a few weeks ago with a couple of girlfriends and we had the best time & promise you will love it too! I wanted to share a little bit about where we stayed, what we did, and of course the most important, where we ate with you in case you find yourself in Waco anytime soon!
Where we stayed //
We stayed at this Airbnb & loved it! It was the perfect size for the 4 of us and had everything we needed. It was comfortable and decorated so you felt like you were staying in a Fixer Upper home…but for an affordable price!
MAGNOLIA MARKET //
This was the main purpose of our trip to Waco and it didn’t disappoint. I’m not even a huge fan of their show, I watch it but not very often but I follow them on Instagram so have watched the Silos come to life. When we arrived Monday night, they were already closed but that didn’t stop us from doing a drive by. We were caught red handed as tourists when we drove by slowly with our windows down and the security guards waved at us laughing! Tuesday morning we were trying not to skip on the sidewalks into Magnolia, we were just so excited. From the moment we stepped foot on the grounds, we felt at peace. All the employees were so sweet & welcoming, their was soft music playing in the background and everything was just like you see it online! We spent hours there shopping, trying out the bakery (totally worth waiting in line–so yummy!) and just soaking it all in. It was a great day to go, it was mildly busy but not at all too crowded.
Be sure to plan time to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere of it. There’s yard games and big wooden swings for the kids & kids at heart. You won’t want to leave! We went back on Wednesday too, we just couldn’t stay away!
Where we ate //
Twisted Root Burger Co.
Cafe Cappuccino
Ninfas Mexican Restaurant
Common Grounds
Olive Branch Cafe
Heritage Creamery —my favorite! So cute & yummy!
Silos Baking Co
Milo Biscuit Co
Overall thoughts //
I loved visiting Waco! It’s a small city but you can find cute places to shop & eat for a couple of days! It’s fun to get to see how Chip & JoJo have brought life back into an old city and how Magnolia Market is the gem in the middle of it all!
