Buckle Up!! This is one of our favorite weddings from last year and we have been wanting to share it for months now! Helene & Kyle’s big wedding weekend at the Otesaga in Cooperstown, NY was magical and full of so much love all around!! After many months of anticipation, family & friends gathered from around the country in the picturesque town of Cooperstown to have a little getaway and celebrate! There’s too many special moments for me to be able to pick a favorite one but a few of my favorite moments from the weekend were the first look with Helene & her Dad, the first look with Helene & Kyle, and the dance floor at the reception – everyone was having a blast!
Helene and Kyle met at Ithaca College in 2010. Kyle tried to flirt with Helene at the gym Freshmen year, but Helene has absolutely no recollection of Kyle or his alleged flirting attempts–she was just too focused on her cheerleading career! At the start of Sophomore year of college, when Helene walked into her first class, she immediately noticed her very handsome Teacher’s Assistant (TA). That TA happened to remember Helene from the gym, but this time she was paying attention to him! After class, Helene rushed back to her dorm room and exclaimed to all her roommates that she had “met her future husband.” Several bridesmaids can confirm this one!
By Thanksgiving 2010, the pair were inseparable. They went on their first real “date” to see Harry Potter in theaters, and wound up taking a road trip all the way to Brackney where Helene grew up.
Uniquely enough, Helene and Kyle quickly discovered that they didn’t only love being together, they also love working together to achieve their shared goals and love being partners in every aspect of life. Together, they created and founded “Ithaca College Mock Trial”. They fondly refer to this program as their “first baby.”
Helene and Kyle both went to Law School at Hofstra University, both competed on the same mock trial team together, and both started their legal careers at the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office. Kyle finally popped the question on May 19, 2019, and their wedding date of August 28, 2021 was set two seeks later! Although they work at different firms now, they both coach trial teams at Hofstra Law. They live together in their home on Long Island with their two cats, and can’t wait to start expanding their family. It’s safe to say that Helene and Kyle really don’t get sick of each other, no matter how much time they spend together. They truly love each other’s company and wouldn’t have it any other way.
From the welcome party on Friday night overlooking the lake as the sunset to the goodbye brunch on Sunday, you could just feel the energy buzzing in the room. Helene and Kyle are some of the sweetest and most genuine people, they make everyone feel loved around them and you could see how all their loved ones were so excited to get the chance to pour some of that love back on them! There was laughter and smiles and happy tears throughout the whole weekend and we know from being a fly on the wall, that some amazing memories were made that will be cherished from years to come!
