The Farm At Cottrell Lake wedding experience is not like any other. Brian and Melissa take you under their wing and guide you every step of the way. They put so much time and effort into your day and they are genuinely happy for their couples. They made our stay and wedding feel like home. Brian surprised us with a seating chart last minute since I still was torn on what to do and he nailed it. They are willing to help with every detail. During cocktail hour we had a storm and they promptly and effectively moved all necessities into the barn. They are always making improvements and making sure they offer the best for their clients. They are an amazing venue to work with and we couldn’t be happier.

THE FARM HOUSE

The luxurious farmhouse is like a home away from home for your wedding weekend. It provides the perfect bridal suite and luxurious accommodations for the bridal party to stay Friday night and get ready there on Saturday. You may have up to 10 overnight guests. The Farmhouse is fully air conditioned and features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a gas fireplace, an open floor plan and large kitchen that is ideal for entertaining. You and your guests will also enjoy amazing sunsets from the wrap around porch.

THE GROVE

You'll be surrounded by trees with beautiful light coming through and butterflies flying around by the wildflowers. The mountain views and field are in front of you and the gorgeous cocktail hour barn and main barn are behind you! It's easily accessible and the most unique place for your ceremony or for guests to wander during cocktail hour!

There is a gorgeous farmhouse for the girls to get ready in and there's a mancave on the ground level of the main barn that the guys can get ready in! Both spots were thoughtfully created to ensure you have everything you need while getting ready & feel comfortable while doing it! It makes the day so much more relaxed if you get ready on location! You get to enjoy the little slice of heaven even longer! :) 

A FEW OF OUR MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SHOOTING WEDDINGS AT Farm at Cottrell Lake

Where do you recommend taking our family portraits?

There's so many opportunities for photos at Farm at Cottrell Lake but some of our favorite's for family portraits are in the wooded ceremony area or in the field! Both of these spots usually have great lighting and are easy to access for all of the family members! 

What time should we schedule our ceremony to begin?

Farm at Cottrell Lake is wonderful because everything can be in one location! If you are getting married off location, you need to remember to account for travel time to the ceremony & back from the ceremony in your timeline. For an on location wedding, 4pm is a great starting ceremony time, then 4:45pm for family photos, 5pm cocktail hour starts and dinner is around 6:30pm! 

What is Plan B if the
weather is bad?

You don't have to worry about rainy days here at Farm at Cottrell Lake! Brian & Melissa have already taken the stress out of thinking of Plan B!  You can have an outdoor ceremony in the field or in the wooded meadow but there is also a beautiful ceremony barn! The main reception barn is completely closed in so you don't have to worry about rain for the reception. 

How long should we plan to take bride & groom portraits?

We recommend planning the following for portraits: 
Family Photos : 20 minutes 
Bridal Party Photos : 20-25 minutes 
Couple Photos : 30- 45 minutes
(as long as you'll give us!) 
Sunset Photos: 10 minutes at golden hour 

What other vendors do you recommend?

Choosing your wedding vendors is so important! Our top tips are 1. Make sure the vendor you choose is good at communication!! 2. Choose vendors off from recommendations from other vendors or friends! Recommendations make sure you know they are awesome!
