Emma and Rob got married at Constantino’s in Clarks Summit this past weekend and it was a wonderful way to kick off our wedding season! From their pups Daisy & Balto to their family & friends, everyone was so happy to be there! One of my favorite parts of the day was during cocktail hour when Emma & Rob were able to enjoy socializing with everyone, taking photos with guests, enjoying good food & drinks (you can never go wrong with anything Constantino’s creates!!). It was so relaxed and fun. I also loved when Emma had the time of her life on the dance floor all night — ice cream, cowboy hat, heart sunglasses & all! Such a fun day! A sweet little touch was in their vows they mentioned they will always steal each others fries so at dinner, they had a plate of fries to share 🙂
Emma & Rob’s love story is best told by Emma, so let’s get ready for story time! This is my favorite type of thing to read! 🙂
On November 15, 2015 we met in a classroom at Penn State Scranton. Since it was shortly after Halloween, I had some leftover candy. I was able to share some with Rob and he chose Kit Kats. Shortly after that, I saw him in the cafeteria playing pool with a buddy of his. I challenged him to a game after and swiftly lost. It’s alright though, because that was our first time hanging outAfter our game of pool, we started to hang out all the time. I commuted to and from school and he lived about 10 mins from campus. We spent all our free time driving around, making too much noise in the library, or hanging out at his parents house. On February 15, 2016, there was a major snow storm and it was not safe for me to drive the 45 mins back home. So I stayed at his parents house on their couch. This also happened to be the night of the Grammys and Taylor swift performed. I cried. He laughed at me. Nothing has changed.
Then April 25, 2016 (my birthday) Rob wrote me a sweet letter as my gift. At the end it said something along the lines of “look at the first letter of each sentence” which ended up spelling out “I love you Emma.”
On June 1, 2016, we were hanging out at his parents house. Rob said I had a scavenger hunt. I don’t remember all of the tasks I had to do or where I was finding the clues. But each “clue” or “prize” was a small piece of paper that detailed “100 things I love about you” and each one had a sweet and thoughtful sentiment. The 100th one said “will you be my girlfriend?”
Over the next 3 years of college, we spent every minute together we could. I moved into an apartment closer to school. He stayed with me almost every night, lord knows how my roommates didn’t confront me about this. We ended up having only one class together: physiology lecture. But he helped me get through nursing school, he is my honorary nurse. He was such a good sport through Health Assessment (where I was constantly practicing any assessment we were learning that week). He really showed up during my OB rotation by letting me practice abdominal assessments on him (demonstrating to my roommates how to assess baby’s lie, how to assess the fundus, etc).
October 24, 2018 we got our first puppy Balto together! Probably wasn’t the wisest idea as we were barely adults and still in school. But he brought and continues to bring us so much joy.
May 4, 2019 we graduated college together.
September 15, 2019 we moved in together, but it felt like nothing had changed. He had been staying in my apartment every night after all
January 23, 2021 we got our second puppy Daisy. She was a tough puppy but she has been the most amazing addition to our small family.
July 23, 2022 was our engagement 🙂 what was just a one night, spontaneous trip to the beach ended up being such a special day. We got to the beach around the early afternoon and just swam and sunbathed for hours. Closer to sunset, we got ready to explore the boardwalk (even though we know this place like the back of our hands). We were headed towards my favorite ice cream place and passed mini golf. I know I always beat him at mini golf so I insisted we play. He kept saying “no come on, we have to get ice cream.” But I was so stubborn that day and I insisted. He gave in and we played a quick round of mini golf (I won). But it wasn’t all that quick, really. By the time we were done, the sun had set. Nevertheless, we got our ice creams and walked back towards the car. Rob insisted we walk down by the water. While walking back hand in hand, we talked at great lengths about what our future would entail: where we’d move, would there be a beach nearby, kids, pups, all of the above. Then we stopped and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was such an easy yes. Since then, not much has changed. We’ve gone to some concerts here and there, travelled places, and planned the wedding. Even the small, mundane things are so fun together.
They are seriously so cute & sweet!! So happy for them & honored we got to be there to capture their special day!!
