At Seneca Ryan Co. we have a heart for LOVE - not just beautiful wedding days, but beautiful marriages, beautiful families and beautiful memories of your life together 50 years from now.
It all started with my sister Hunter & I as young teenagers with cameras in hand at our very first wedding. From that day on, I knew I wanted to be a wedding photographer. Over the years, we honed in on our style and creating an experience that couple’s loved while building relationships with other vendors. Our calendar was full but the couples wanting us to photograph them kept appearing in our inbox. It broke my heart to have to say “we’re already booked” when they were so excited to be engaged and wanted us to photograph them! That’s when Seneca Ryan Co. team was built.
Our team of photographers have several things in common but most importantly, they love serving others! Yes, of course they are photographers but we care about people here and want everyone we work with to feel loved and cared for. It was really important as we hired and trained our team to have people who were similar to me so that our experience could be the same, regardless of who the photographer was.
Having a team of photographers allows for us to love and serve many more couples with professional wedding photography and we love that! We get asked a lot of questions about how it all works so I wanted to share some answers and some fun facts so you can get to know us better!
What is the Seneca Ryan Co Experience?
We are known for making people feel comfortable in front of the camera while providing timeless portraits with fast turnarounds and communication. Our clients love how we capture both the candid and the must have photos while making it fun and relaxed for everyone. We are always available to help with a recommendation, planning a timeline that gets you the best photos, or outfit options. We love being able to help with whatever we can!
How does it work with multiple photographers? Who does what?
We are all trained professional photographers who work together as a team. Seneca, handles all of the communication and editing for all weddings. Our other photographers photograph engagement or weddings and help with blogging, social media, providing content to give to our clients to make their life easier! Since Seneca handles all of the communication and editing, you are guaranteed the same experience, regardless of the photographer.
Can we choose our lead photographer?
Yes, when you email us you can request your lead photographer and we do our best to accommodate. Our final schedules are made 6 months before the wedding day and once you have been assigned a lead photographer, you will get an email so you can start talking with them as well!
Who will our second photographer be?
Your second photographer will be chosen based on the schedule and will be one of our other photographers or one of our talented colleagues.
Where do you photograph weddings?
We are based in Montrose, PA area and Syracuse, NY area. Paige and Sarah live closer to Scranton, PA while Kortni lives up in the Adirondacks NY but our home bases are Montrose and Syracuse. We travel anywhere and all of us have big bucket lists of travel spots are are always down to packing our bags to photograph your wedding!
Describe your perfect date :
Kortni: Driving around talking + looking at pretty scenery + grabbing some brunch + coffee!
Paige: Spending a day discovering a new town we love somewhere in the world. Experiencing new people, new culture, good food, and being able to just sit at a cafe outside and enjoy the peace of being together, talking, and just soaking up the adventure of life together. Can you tell I romanticize things haha?!
Sarah: Dinner and drinks at a local spot then a long walk where we can just talk, dream, and make plans for our future farm. Maybe stop a coffee shop and get some dessert and a coffee. Our dominant love language is quality time so we’re happy doing anything together!
Seneca : Just spending the day together relaxing! We love cooking together and snuggling up to watch a movie!
What are your quirks?
Kortni: I’m pretty OCD + have to have everything in place otherwise it bugs me. I can eat breakfast food for every meal of the day + not get sick of it. I never finish a cup of coffee in the morning
Paige: I hate waterparks ( grosses me out lol and I’m not even a germaphobe, like I’d drink anyone’s drink haha.) I don’t really like bacon ( I know that seems like a joke), I loathe wearing socks, you will mostly find me sockless even in the winter!
Sarah: I’m an ambivert, I have to make to-do lists to remember things
Seneca: I like to have a plan laid out, I probably won’t follow that plan but I like to know it’s there! Paige & I are the same with hating socks!
Hunter: I’m super organized and like to keep everyone around me organized too
Favorite part of a wedding day:
Sarah: I have two! I love the First Look because it’s such a special and private moment that the bride and groom can just take for themselves to breathe and relax before the ceremony. Weddings can be such whirlwinds so it’s just nice to get to slow down and really soak in that moment. I also love the exchanging of vows-especially if the couple has written their own! It’s just so special!
Paige:Dancing! Love the fun and natural feel of people just having the best time and letting their personalities shine! Dancing photos make me smile the most.
Kortni: I love all of it, but the dancing / party time is my fav! I love watching couples with their closest friends + family just having a blast.
We’d love to chat with you about photographing your wedding day!
