At Seneca Ryan Co. we have a heart for LOVE - not just beautiful wedding days, but beautiful marriages, beautiful families and beautiful memories of your life together 50 years from now.
We have so many of our sweet couples who are becoming parents lately and we wanted to do a little roundup post of some of our most loved and most used baby products from this first year of having a baby! It’s so easy to become overwhelmed with the options but truly, babies don’t need much. We kept it very simple for baby gear and products and we hope this is helpful to you!
Keeping baby close to you but giving you your hands back with this soft wrap will be key in those first few months! We did lots of contact naps with Ailish in the wrap as I worked around the house or on the computer! It’s easy to use once you practice the wrapping a few times and it’s so nice when they are so little to have something that fits right to them instead of a bulkier carrier. We used this daily in the first 6 months!
We still have this rocker out in our house as Ailish loves crawling into it as a chair now (at just over a year old) but we used this daily for the first 6 months as well. I loved that it was comfortable and easy to move around the house and also made for cute backdrop photos of her. The cushion is washable and it’s easy to put back together… one of our favorites!
This car seat is so light and easy to install in the car (& move around to different vehicles if needed). I loved that it doesn’t have any fire retardant chemicals but is naturally flame resistant and truly is so light to carry around! You can keep them in this up to 25lbs so we used this until Ailish was almost a year old before switching her over to her big girl car seat.
We spent a ton of time researching strollers as we wanted one that could be all terrain with living in the country and we decided on the Thule Urban Glide. It’s rugged yet sleek and lightweight, easy to fold down and comfortable for baby! They have a bunch of accessories you can get to customize it based on your needs as well. We got the baby bassinet attachment which was great for first few months!
5. Mockingbird Stroller
After all the research with strollers, we decided we needed 2 different strollers for our needs. We wanted one that could be for walks on the dirt roads and in the fields but then we wanted one that was more for shopping or travel. Mockingbird was the easy choice for the second stroller and I love that you can get it to be able to add the second seat easily!
6. Ikea Highchair
We love the Ikea Highchair and accessorize with Yeah Baby Goods covers & footrests! We also got the Highchair Catchy which is worth it’s weight in gold as it makes clean up SO MUCH EASIER!
I don’t love the look of alot of baby products so we spent alot of time looking for pieces that were timeless and durable that would look nice in our home & last through many kids. We loved the BabyBay Side of Bed Sleeper! You can convert it to a bassinet as well.
We used the Gathre mats from the newborn days as a safe & clean spot to lay Ailish down for tummy time or a diaper change when we were out & about to now loving their toys! We have quite the collection now and all of them are great quality and provide endless hours of open ended play! Ailish especially loves the ball pit and the slide!
The Amazon prime delivery guy had a frequent stop at our house this first year!
10. Our favorite places for baby clothes are Jamie Kay, Qunicy Mae, Goumi, H&M (they have alot of organic cotton clothes!), Zara, Rylee & Cru, and Briar Baby Bonnets! I have enjoyed using Mercari & Kidizen to buy some of our favorite brands second hand!
