Karlee and Troy’s classic September wedding at Glasbern Inn was one of those days that we want to keep reliving! Karlee and Troy’s wedding felt like a Montrose family affair because we had photographed Troy’s sister’s engagement and wedding! That is where we first met Karlee and Troy with their families who also live in Montrose and love it here as much as we do!
Their Love Story
This sweet couple started dating on 6/18/18 (fun lucky numbers!!) after having the summer of a lifetime together and falling in love. They did long distance while Karlee was in college but all the road trips back and forth were worth every moment together.
We always love proposal stories and here is how Karlee shared their experience: The proposal was a surprise trip to BERMUDA. Troy is infamously always late…..and we almost missed the flight, but so glad we didn’t. LOL. I thought we were taking a trip to the Jersey Shore and we ended up at the Newark Airport. It was actually crazy how he pulled this off. Our second night there we went to the beach at sunset where Troy got down on one knee and had a professional photographer take photos. It was a trip of a lifetime and I will never forget it!
A once-in-a-lifetime surprise executed perfectly by Troy! After their engagement, the fiancés started planning their classic September wedding, looking for their dream home and rescuing their dog Marlow. They hope to have a family of their own one day and enjoy all the things they’ve worked so hard for! We were so honored to do Karlee and Troy’s engagement session which you can check out on the blog here.
The Classic September Wedding
The morning of the long anticipated wedding day was moody with clouds and rain. As everyone got ready the morning of, we all hoped and prayed the rain would stop and clouds would clear. About 20 minutes before the ceremony, the sky opened up to a stunning blue with bright sunshine! Everyone was so relieved and now focused on getting Karlee and Troy married!!
Just like the couple, the ceremony was heartfelt, sweet, but also full of laughter and joy. The new Mr. and Mrs. Ely sealed the deal with a kiss and danced their way down the aisle! One of our favorite moments of the day was how they greeted their bridal party and guests right after the ceremony. With the bright sunshine, authentic feelings of love and joy, and excitement in the air, it was magic to see everyone so happy for the couple.
With the warm September sun and beautifully manicured grounds at Glasbern Inn, the photo opportunities were endless. Karlee and Troy were breathtaking in every photo and the love they shared was clear. Meanwhile, guests were enjoying the food, drink, and scenery during cocktail hour. The newlyweds were able to crash cocktail hour and get photos with guests while socializing.
The reception started with a bang as the DJ pumped up the music for the bridal party to make their entrances. Complete with a money gun, shots, and unforgettable dance moves, the stage was set for Karlee and Troy’s grand entrance! Going right into their first dance, the parents of the couple watched with their hearts full and eyes teary. It was time for father daughter dance and father mother dance. The emotion from parents and the couple left an impression of how much love was shared.
After dinner, the best man and maid of honor shared authentic toasts with tears of joy and sentiment. The dance floor was officially open and never got empty! Everyone was ready to dance the night away with the newlyweds. From tears flowing at first looks to the dollar dance at the end of the night, the day was unforgettable. Seeing Karlee and Troy’s natural charisma and how perfect they are for each other during the day was so heart-warming.
Congratulations to Karlee and Troy!!
