Morgan and Michael’s dog-friendly summer wedding at The Barn at Glistening Pond was one of those weddings that reminds us why we are in the wedding business! With such a stunning venue, unbeatable June sunshine, and a down-to-earth couple, there were no stressful or unpleasant moments throughout the day. Morgan and Michael soaked up every sentimental moment and could not wait to dance the night away and have the time of their life!
How a Blink-182 Concert Led to a Lifetime of Love
Their love of a good time started from the moment they met at a Blink 182 concert! In extraverted Morgan fashion, she wandered to different people tailgating at the concert to talk and meet people. Michael was with some friends at one of the tailgates she stopped at. When Morgan saw Michael’s leopard print button down shirt, which he still owns of course, she knew this was someone she wanted to converse with. He did not disappoint and in their first time meeting, the pair talked about where they were at in life and obviously their favorite Blink 182 songs.
Not ready to say goodbye, Michael suggested that he would try to get Morgan to the front row with him and maybe into the pit area. With no luck getting in, the pair parted ways and went to the concert. Through crowdsurfing, Morgan ended up making it to the front row to enjoy the show! The next day, an unknown number texted Morgan asking how she liked the show and about the crowd surfing. This unknown number turned out to be Michael! Since then, the two have not stopped talking and have built a life together over the last 5 years.
Michael’s Christmas Eve proposal, surrounded by twinkling lights and with their golden retriever Oakley by their side, perfectly reflected their fun-loving, spontaneous energy. It was the kind of cozy, at-home holiday proposal that feels magical and full of joy.
A Relaxed Wedding Morning at The Barn at Glistening Pond
Located just outside Scranton, The Barn at Glistening Pond is a dream venue for couples looking for rustic charm with modern touches. The morning of Morgan and Michael’s June wedding was warm, sunny, and full of excitement, the kind of peaceful start we always hope for. As the wedding day began with hair and makeup, you could feel the excitement for Morgan and Michael’s big day. Found in her white pajamas, Morgan sat in the glam chair getting ready and anticipating the day she had waited for. With everything crossed off the to-do list, the only thing left was for her to enjoy the day and the stunning results of all the planning. After a lively first look with her dad, Morgan knew it would all be more than worth it!
Michael and his groomsmen were in the groomsman suite busy getting ready with the classic “How To Tie a Tie” YouTube video in the background and Oakley trying to get all the scratches. There was a calm anticipation throughout the suite as Michael’s mother pinned on his boutonniere and groomsmen adjusted their cufflinks. Before we knew it, the time for Michael to be put in place for his first look with Morgan.
Beside the serene pond and underneath the willow tree, Morgan and Michael had their sweet first look and exchanged some private vows. The tears were flowing and the smiles were wide as the couple verbally expressed their journey to that moment and how much they meant to each other. The love they shared was palpable in that moment and their bond evident.
Oakley was a star in the couple portraits and all the bridal group photos! He matched the Bride and Groom’s energy with just wanting to be playful and have a good time! With formal portraits crossed off the list, it was time for the ceremony. With sounds of the fountain in the background, Morgan and Michael professed their unending love to each other with close friends and family as their witnesses.
From Ben & Jerry’s to Oakley on the Dance Floor: A Reception to Remember
All of the guests were so excited for Morgan and Michael and rallied behind them throughout the dog-friendly summer wedding wedding at The Barn at Glistening Pond. From cocktail hour to the whole reception, the crowd was very engaging and showed their excitement for the newlyweds. A few of our favorite personal touches in the reception space was the couple deciding to do spoonfuls of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream along with the cake cutting and the giant cardboard cutouts of the beloved Oakley for the dance floor!
