Some of the prettiest venues here in Central New York & Syracuse, NY can only accommodate a small amount of guests so you’re one of the lucky few that get to experience the beauty of a wedding there, if you are having an intimate wedding! Whether you have always wanted a small wedding or have readjusted your wedding dream sails to be able to still get married amidst a pandemic, you shouldn’t have to settle for anything less than perfect for your wedding day. Intimate weddings can be just the two of you, or a small group of family & friends. You can have a ceremony and then a dinner after to celebrate, even doing a first dance & cake cutting to keep some of the traditions!
One thing to keep in mind as you plan is that wherever you get married, whoever is there, at the end of the day you will be married!! And that’s the best and most important thing!! It can be emotionally exhausting as you try to wedding plan and make sure everything is just so but take a deep breath and remember why you are doing it all…you found your best friend for life & the wedding day is just the first page in this new chapter of life!!
Over the past year, many venues are catering to the couple who wants to get married now, not postpone again and again due to regulations! We are going to highlight some of our favorite ones that you should check out if you are thinking about having an intimate wedding or elopement!



Mirbeau Inn & Spas is like walking into a European Oasis…the gardens are spectacular and so peaceful!! There is a monat deck for you to host a small dinner party with your family & friends after your vows and you can have a mini moon right on the property at their amazing spa!! It’s truly perfect!!


The Brewster Inn is located right on Cazenovia Lake, just a short drive from Syracuse! It’s a beautiful historic inn that overlooks the water and has delicious food and a great atmosphere! There is a small rose garden that is perfect for your reception and you can get married on the front lawn! Expect for there to be cheers from the boats to celebrate your love!


In the heart of Skaneateles village, this grand Inn overlooks the water and is a wonderful place to promise each other forever! It has a dining room or side yard that will be a great space for an intimate reception and guests can stay at the Inn to experience the lovely town all weekend!

The Chateau at Saint Lawrence Spirits in Thousand Islands is spectacular! Nothing will prepare you for the beauty of being up on the hill looking out on the river and the gorgeous grounds! The beautiful stone building mixed with the gentle breeze, add in some soft music playing and it is a perfect place to have your mini wedding! Clayton, NY is right down the road and there are many things to do for the weekends in the Thousand Islands!!



Traditions at the Links is right in Syracuse NY and can host up to 425 people but can also do intimate events. The golf course is beautiful and the staff are amazing! It’s newly renovated space has lots of natural light and would allow for a socially distanced reception space!



It’s a bit of a drive from Syracuse but it is WORTH IT! The Inn at Five Points is in Saratoga Springs, NY and is just a 5 minute walk from the horse race tracks! It’s a lovely redone historical home and each corner is carefully thought out to make sure all your needs are met! The breakfast is delicious and there are many things to do within walking distance if you decide to stay for the weekend! The owner is an event designer so she helps transform the space into the wedding of your dreams!

An 1835 farmhouse that has been remodeled that sits on Skaneateles Lake that has beautiful grounds and friendly staff! Elizabeth from Paper Crane Calligraphy is their in house event coordinator and she is amazing at bringing a vision to life!! You can rent the whole house and have up to 12 guests stay with you for the weekend of celebrations!
Brianna & Chris from Pretty Little Vintage have created a delightful event space in Watertown, NY! It’s a blank canvas that you can go with so many different styles, whatever your heart desires! With Pretty Little Vintage rentals items, there’s endless opportunities!! We love their pop up weddings which means you don’t have to do any planning, you just show up and get married in a beautiful space!!
This is such a unique venue, a beautiful historic old Sinclair Chair Factory built in 1871 on Skaneateles Creek that has been turned into an event space!! It’s just a few miles from the village of Skaneateles and it is a 3 story building with an outdoor ceremony location option as well! It’s beautiful!

Doesn’t every little girl dream about living in a castle?! You can get married in Boldt Castle which is on an island in the Thousand Islands! It’s such a unique place and it’s a fun area to honeymoon at afterwards!!

You don’t have to go far to find a beautiful space to say “I do”! It could happen in your backyard or a family member or friend’s backyard! Keep it simple and host a bbq or picnic or go all out and get a tent & fill it with flowers! We love that backyard weddings have such a special tie to the couple! We got married in my parent’s backyard and it couldn’t have been more perfect for us! It was laid back and fun!
