Today I get to tell you about a year long dream that I’ve had and how it’s come to be. I am forever grateful to have the opportunity to do what I love as my job and I made the hard decision to sell the bridal shop back in September as the first step in moving towards making this dream reality. It was terrifying, I wasn’t scared when I bought the shop (I was young & naive, I should have been scared but I was a 18 year old with so many plans!) but making the decision to sell the shop just about killed me. I was surrounded by family & friends who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself and asked me the hard questions that got me thinking. When the shop sold within one week of posting it, I knew God’s hand was on this decision.
I’ve dreamed of leading a team of wedding photographers and building a business that allowed for other women to do what they love and support their families. My inbox is filled daily with amazing couples telling me about their love story, their wedding and Hunter & I can only photograph so many weddings a year…so I’ve hired an associate wedding photographer! It’s as close to a second me as it gets!
We are changing the business name to Seneca Ryan Co.
Why? With growth comes change, I started my business when I was 13 and it has served me so well but I felt like in order to continue growing we needed to have a “grown up” name!
So why Seneca Ryan Co? Ryan is my middle name, my Mom loved the name “Seneca” and Dad loved the middle name “Ryan”. It’s still me behind this business and the camera so I still wanted it to be my name but Co. to reflect that there’s now a team of us!
What is changing? Everything is staying the same except for adding another wedding photographer (you’ll meet her soon, I promise!) so that we can serve double the amount of couples here in Pennsylvania! Hunter & I will still be photographing, nothing is changing as far as us! There will be many new features and ways to help serve our couples better but the photography you’ve grown to love is staying the same! Don’t you worry…it’s all good things coming your way! You’ll be able to read all about what an associate photographer is in the next few days when I introduce our amazing associate!
We are now booking 2018 (limited dates left!) and 2019 weddings! We can’t wait to hear all of the new love stories and meet you soon!
