I got an email from Martin just over 3 months ago asking if there was any chance that I was available to photograph his & Emily’s wedding on September 1 and thankfully I was! What a beautiful day to be a part of! Martin & Emily have known each other since middle school, they were friends throughout all of school before going their separate ways for college. They reconnected after college right before Martin was going overseas to teach English so nothing came of it until 9 months later when he returned. It’s been a long distance relationship though because Emily is a music teacher and Martin is going to grad school…so the wedding is a huge step in beginning their life together! And now in just a few weeks, they move over to Germany together for a year! It’s like a year long honeymoon 😉 

The ceremony took place at Hickory Run State Park’s little white chapel in the woods! You walked out the chapel doors to a little waterfall, how beautiful! Martin & Emily were so laid back and genuinely happy, which is such a sweet thing to see! Martin was holding back tears as he saw his beautiful bride walk down the aisle to him and Emily’s grandfather was the one to marry them. To celebrate, everyone headed back to parent of the groom’s backyard where it had been turned into an enchanting garden party. Twinkling lights, soft music playing in the background, and a cute little bar set up for the cocktail hour and then we all moved into a tent with a family style dinner. It was so romantic and as the chilly September evening set in, everyone got onto the dance floor to have a good time!
