I know you’ve seen the images on Pinterest that are dream worthy and I know you’ve doubted you’d ever be able to have a wedding like that because we don’t have unique wedding venues in our area. But when we look a little harder, we have some of the prettiest barn wedding venues right here in Scranton and Northeast Pennsylvania!
I love barn weddings, there’s something so intimate and magical about them. I’m a sucker for twinkling lights over the dance floor and seeing guests cozied up together watching the sunset together – and barn venues allow for both of those!
Here’s a list of our top 5 favorite barn wedding venues that are around Scranton, PA! Keep in mind that their calendars fill up quickly because they are so beautiful & unique. Visit them sooner rather than later so you don’t miss out on your wedding date!

Located right by Elk Mountain Ski Resort, the Farm at Cottrell Lake is a beautiful property is set up with you in mind. Melissa & Brian have done a spectacular job transforming an old farm property into the wedding venue of your dreams.
The Red Barn can seat up to 200 people and has original floors and beams with built in bars, chandeliers and the cutest string lights over the dance floor. Right across from the red barn is the cocktail barn and they’ve also created a space for indoor ceremonies in their grey barn!
My favorite part of the Farm at Cottrell Lake is the farmhouse, you are going to want to move right in. You walk in and it’s like homes you’ve pinned on Pinterest, and it’s yours to use the weekend of your wedding!

Longacre Farms
This beautiful family owned old dairy farm is nestled in the mountains in Susquehanna County just a short drive from the New York border. Adam and his wife Hollie are so welcoming to everyone who comes. Longacre Farms has a rich family history of love. Adam and Hollie were the first couple to get married in the barn when Adam’s grandparents still lived there. How sweet is that?! There is a newly renovated bridal suite in their farm house that is absolutely beautiful for the girls to get ready in or the couple to spend the night in. There’s horses in the fields, a pond behind the barn for the perfect sunset viewing spot and the barn is spacious and stunning inside! It’s a great venue for couples from New York, Binghamton area too as it’s easily accessible and not far from I-81!
Friedman Farms
Friedman Farms is located conveniently in Dallas, PA and is an original barn that still is home to horses in the bottom level. It’s a blank space for your wedding and has a beautiful view from the back deck onto the pastures and rolling fields.
The ceremony location out by the tree is a beautiful place and guests will feel in a different world when they step onto the property. My favorite part of Friedman Farms is when the bride arrives in the horse drawn carriage, so breathtaking!

Fox Hill Farm
Fox Hill Farm is for the couple looking for that homegrown, farm to table style wedding with elegance. Katherine is a florist as well and the property is covered in her amazing gardens. Your bouquet & centerpieces can be straight from her garden and your guests can enjoy dancing the night away in the 19th century rustic barn that can seat approximately 160 people.
My favorite part about Fox Hill Farm is actually two things: cocktail hour in the garden and the way you feel when you walk onto the property, you immediately feel welcome & at home.
Which one is your favorite? I can’t choose a favorite, I love all of them & their stories so much. It’s always a happy day when we get to photograph a wedding at one of these barns!
We are currently booking weddings for a few remaining dates in 2020 and booking 2021 weddings! Once you have your venue, let’s chat about photography!!
