They met at a bar Emily was at listening to her friend perform I the musical duo the night before Thanksgiving 2013. They had some mutual friends, chatted a little bit before exchanging numbers & heading home for family Thanksgiving. Kurt called her and asked her to go out for a drink with him and 2 days later they met before Emily had to drive 2.5 hours back to college, meaning that it would be 2 weeks before they could see each other. But after those 2 weeks, they were more than ready to see each other & shared their first kiss in her parent’s driveway when he dropped her off. That started their long distance relationship and Kurt drove every other weekend to go see her at school and Emily would come home on the other weekends. After a long year and a half, Emily graduated and moved home…which started the talks about moving in, marriage and kids. Fast forward a year and January 2016 they found out they were expecting a little baby in September!
During her maid of honor’s speech, we learned Emily knew for sure she wanted to marry Kurt when she saw him holding her friend’s baby for the first time. She knew he would be an amazing father. And that he is…getting to see Emily & Kurt with baby Kurt is the sweetest thing.
Kurt asked Emily to marry him on April 9, 2016 at the restaurant they met at in front of the fireplace…a few months later their family became 3 and wedding planning commenced to bring us to the most beautiful winter wedding at the Country Club of Scranton on December 9, 2017. The day started off with no snow on the ground and by the end of the night, there were at least 2 inches covering everyone’s vehicles. It made for a magical day!
The Country Club of Scranton was a beautiful location for their wedding…the girls & Emily got ready in the Presidential Suite upstairs that has lots of room for everyone and the cutest mirrors to make you feel like a movie star as you get ready! The staff was amazing, super helpful and everything was so professionally done! Loved it there!
