We are super excited to announce our new weekly blog series…introducing our favorite vendors!! We think we work with the industry’s best, and we want to share them with you! Each week we will highlight a local vendor who does amazing work & give you a look into their business!
So first off, Candice Mock from Patchwork Planning! Here’s a little Q & A to get to know Candice!

What made you want to work in the wedding industry?
Hmm! ! A lot of us are at the age where everyone is getting engaged, or married. Some have one job, some are finishing school, others have two jobs, and some already have kids. How can you plan your wedding to the best of your ability, when you have a schedule like that? I wanted to be available to come alongside couples and offer them guidance as they planned their wedding, easing the stress and tension and make it as enjoyable as possible.
What’s your favorite part of weddings?
I’d have to say the first look, if a couple chooses to do one. Having that moment between you and your future life partner is so precious. No matter what I’m doing I always try to take a look at those first moments when you can see the nerves fade away as couples are overcome with love for each other. A close second would be the recessional! I absolutely love seeing those first few steps as a married couple, dancing down the aisle surrounded by family and friends!

What’s your favorite wedding show/movie, and why?
I’ve been thinking, possibly Father of the Bride, because I just recently saw it and couldn’t stop laughing. Generally a lot of wedding movies make wedding planners out to be someone that they’re not (I can’t tell you how many times someone asks what I do, and after they hear wedding planner they say, “Oh like the movie with JLO.” No, not exactly.
What’s your favorite part of meeting new couples?
Hmm. I think hearing how they met, and how they want who they are to come across in their wedding. I love personal touches!
What is your inspiration for what you do?
This is always changing, from seeing a vacant building to taking a walk through the Salvation Army miscellaneous aisle. There’s inspiration everywhere.
When should brides be booking you?
I used to give a time frame, but realistically, the earlier the better (as with most of your vendors!). It’s to note that day of coordination is one of our most popular packages, yet some brides wait till less than three months before their wedding day to book us. When at that point we’ve already been booked at least 6 months out. I hate to say we’re unavailable, and am thankful there are some other wedding planners in the area we can recommend. But, at the same time, just book early! You’ll get all the vendors you want!
What marriage advice can you give to couples?
Communication is so ridiculously important. I could go on, but communication is good enough, haha.
